  • Formatting for Technical Reports Each author may submit a maximum of four works for the XII SINGEP-CIK event. Each work may have up to four authors.

    Language: Portuguese, English, or Spanish

    Font: Times New Roman, size 12

    Line spacing: single

    Character spacing: normal

    Page limit: minimum 8, maximum 16 pages

    Paper size: A4

    Margins: Top: 3cm / Bottom: 2cm / Left: 3cm / Right: 2cm

    Paragraph: Justified text

    Pagination: page numbers in the footer, aligned to the right, as per the template.

    Notes: Should not be placed in the footer but included as end-of-text notes.

    Figures and Tables: All figures and tables must have captions and follow APA guidelines. Thus, for figures (charts, graphics, drawings, etc.), captions should be positioned below them, left-aligned with font size Times New Roman 10. For tables, captions should be positioned above them, centered with font Times New Roman size 10.

    Citations and bibliographic references: Citations should be inserted in the text body following the author-date system, adding the page number for direct quotations. Bibliographic references should be presented in alphabetical order at the end of the work, according to the American Psychological Association (APA) standard.

    Observations: Works that do not meet the technical criteria will not have their submission accepted. The work must be submitted in a single file without identification of authors, institution, or email. Works with identified authorship will automatically be excluded from the event.

    TECHNICAL REPORT MODALITY

    The technical report or technological article is the final product of a study (applied research or technical production) that describes in a precise and objective manner the problem situation in the organizational context and the associated prescriptive result or solution. A technical report presents the results of a technical, administrative, or managerial intervention in an organization conducted with methodological criteria. These are academic works that prioritize the description of learning in the form of presenting practical results, learning that comes from experiences lived by organizations/professionals involved in processes that can be managed/improved through specific management techniques. It must be written with scientific and methodological rigor.

    Guidance for the recording and development of the technical report:

    The technical report must contain a minimum of eight (8) and a maximum of sixteen (16) pages, including illustrations, references, and end-of-text notes.

    • Should prioritize prescriptive knowledge, i.e., propose (or prescribe) solutions to problems faced by organizations;
    • Should be aimed at solving problems in a practical way, even if based on applied disciplines;
    • Its mission should be to develop knowledge about what is relevant to solve problems in its field of research.

    Structured Abstract (to be included only in the submission platform): Authors are advised to prepare the structured abstract in a separate document and copy and paste each item into the specific field at the time of submission.

    The structured abstract of the technical report should include the following items and must contain no more than 250 words in total:

    • Study objective (maximum 42 words)
    • Relevance/originality (maximum 42 words)
    • Methodology/approach (maximum 42 words)
    • Main results (maximum 42 words)
    • Theoretical/methodological contributions (maximum 42 words)
    • Social/management contributions (maximum 42 words)

    The Title, Structured Abstract, and Keywords should be written in two versions regardless of the language chosen for submitting the technical report: 1st version in Portuguese; and the 2nd version in English.

    Fields to be filled in on the submission platform:

    • Work title in Portuguese: in uppercase.
    • Work title in English: in uppercase.
    • Keywords: in Portuguese, at least three (3) and no more than five (5).
    • Keywords: in English, must be the same as those defined in Portuguese.
    • Fields of the structured abstract: in Portuguese
    • Fields of the structured abstract: in English

    Suggested structure for the technical report (textual part):

    (Do not include the structured abstract in the PDF; it should only be included in the submission platform).

    • TITLE (in the language of the text)
    • Introduction: The introduction should present the context and/or the problem situation of the study. It should be brief and clear, explaining what the report is about, what intervention was made in the organization, and what will be analyzed, clarifying the problem to be solved/reported. It should make clear to the reader the objective of the report and how the research was conducted or how the authors interpreted the information to arrive at the report. The sequence of sections of the report should be shown.
    • Theoretical Framework: A theoretical framework related to the intervention made in the organization should be presented. This framework serves to frame the report from a theoretical perspective and provide comparisons with existing theory.
    • Methodology: It should explain in detail how the technical report was conducted, whether it was carried out solely based on the professional experience and practice of the student/researcher, or if other interactions/participations (from other professionals) were necessary to achieve the objective of the technical report. It should highlight which professional skills were used for observation, analysis, and solution of the problem, what type of approach was used (direct observation, direct participation, etc.). It is necessary to clarify the problem being reported. The method should consider primary and secondary information that needs to be qualified.
    • Analysis and discussion of results: Should contain: Characterization of the organization and the problem analyzed; Type of intervention and mechanisms adopted; Description of the results obtained; Analysis of the results by the authors; Comparison with the theory reviewed in the theoretical framework. What are the most relevant contributions to the topics addressed in the report. Its relevance to other similar cases and what kind of professional learning this reported experience should be shared within the community of professionals.
    • Conclusions/Final Considerations and Contributions: Should show the reader arguments that it was possible to achieve the initially proposed objectives. Here, proposals for companies/projects encountering similar situations to the described one should be presented. Aspects that limited the work should be mentioned. Finally, new ideas for reports or works of a technical/professional nature should be outlined.
